Tasting Notes of Tropical Fruits and Purple Grape
Bumba hill sits far from the beaten path, but the coffees grown there are anything but quiet. To get there, you cross three rivers, pass two provincial borders, and climb into the quiet hills of Kayanza, Burundi. This natural lot is vibrant and fruit-forward, with flavours of tropical fruits and purple grape, and a complexity that lingers long after the last sip. Grown by 620 smallholder farmers who also cultivate corn and beans, the coffee is carried by foot or bicycle to the Ninga Washing Station. It’s a long journey, but one that reflects the deep care and commitment behind every cup. Roasted for filter, this coffee is sweet, bright, and deeply layered. A striking expression of place and people, from a community whose work deserves to be tasted and shared.
