Tasting Notes of Dark Cherry and Chocolate
At Finca El Boquerón, Samuel Pineda’s story has come full circle, from his childhood helping on his uncles’ farms, to his journey back to the land after a decade in the city. The farm, named for the deep natural hole at its centre, sits at high elevation in the Santa Barbara department. Samuel inherited a hectare from his mother, and over time, he expanded, planting his coffee trees with care, passion, and dedication. Inspired by his cousin Benjamín, Samuel started processing his coffee as specialty, which not only boosted quality but also led to better prices, making a real difference to his family’s life. This natural process microlot is all about rich dark cherry, layered with silky chocolate sweetness. It’s complex, vibrant, and full of heart.
