Lomaverde, Colombia
Best Suited for Espresso
Tasting Notes of Golden Kiwi and Maple Syrup
A little higher, a little slower, a lot more interesting. Finca Lomaverde sits at 1,950 metres above sea level in Colombia’s Antioquia region, where the Echavarría family are growing some seriously beautiful coffee.
Once focused on producing large volumes of Caturra and Colombia, the family have taken a different approach in recent years, downsizing production and making room for rare varieties like Chiroso. The result is more careful farming, more selective harvesting and some wonderfully distinctive coffees.
This 100% Chiroso lot is bright and juicy, with the lively acidity of golden kiwi and the rich, comforting sweetness of maple syrup. Washed and slowly dried under greenhouse conditions, it’s clean, vibrant and beautifully balanced, with a sweetness that sticks around. A little glimpse of what happens when quality gets to take its time.
