Ruli Women's Coffee, Rwanda
Best Suited for Filter
Tasting Notes of Yellow Peach and Shortbread
Yellow peach sweetness and buttery shortbread richness set the tone in this special lot from Rwanda’s Ruli washing station. Produced by 136 women farmers tending small hillside plots around the station, this dedicated women’s lot celebrates both exceptional coffee and the collective strength behind it. Many of the contributing producers are members of Rambagirakawa, an all-women’s alliance within the Dukunde Kawa Cooperative. By marketing their cherry collectively, they receive additional premiums that support greater financial independence and opportunity within their communities.
Roasted for filter, the cup is soft, sweet, and beautifully balanced. Juicy stone fruit brightness brings a gentle lift, while notes of shortbread add warmth and a comforting, biscuit-like depth. The texture is silky, the finish clean and lingering. Approachable yet refined, it’s a coffee that feels joyful to drink, and a reminder that great coffee is always shaped by the people who grow it.
