As the weather warms up, the perfect drink to add to your summer coffee rotation is a classic cold brew. Delicious, always, and the perfect base to top with a cold foam if you’re feeling like something sweeter.
To make a Redbrick cold brew at home, you’re going to need:
- 18g coffee
- 175g boiling water
- 75g ice
Once you have those on hand, we can start brewing!
- Grind coffee slightly finer than you would for a regular pour over (think a little finer than table sugar). Because we’re using less water to extract the same amount of coffee (in comparison to a typical brew ratio), we need the water to spend longer passing through the bed of coffee
- Pre wet filter paper
- Place 75g of ice into the carafe or brewing container
- Place ground coffee in the v60
- First pour: 50g. Bloom for 30 seconds
- Second pour: at 30 seconds, pour another 50g (scale total will be 100g)
- Final pour: at 1 minute, pour the remaining 75g of water (scale total 175g)
- Total brew time should be 2:20-2:30min
- Swirl carafe around to ensure all ice is melted
Thank us when it’s sweltering!
