Sitio Canaã, which translates to “The Promised Land”, is a small farm just outside the town of Piatã owned by Kleumon Silva Moreira. Piatã is a high-altitude region – some areas reaching 1,400masl, resulting in some of the most prized coffees currently being produced in Brazil. Kleumon, at only 35 years old, represents the next generation of coffee farmers in the region. Under the guidance of Antônio Rigno, the highly decorated owner of the farm São Judas, who we are also proud to purchase from, Kleumon purchased his own 10-hectare plot of land in 2016 and has since mirrored the precision and best practices of his mentor.
Kluemon’s fastidious approach is evident in the quality of this lot. The ripest cherries are picked and dried steadily and slowly over 28 days which allows fructose to build up in the fruit. The result is a seriously elegant cup, with delightful tropical flavours and a syrupy sweetness. Sitio Canaã is a wonderful example of the highest-quality and nuanced coffee Brazil has to offer
