Processing: Washed

This full bodied lot was carefully produced by a collective of 150 farmers on Giku Hill. The high elevations and cool climate of the region provide ideal conditions to grow exceptional coffee, however logistical challenges make accessing it difficult. The journey begins with the careful handpicking of ripe cherries, followed by their transportation on foot or by bike along dirt roads that traverse multiple creeks and province borders to collection points before they’re delivered to Long Miles Coffee’s Bukeye washing station for washed processing.
Long Miles’ takes great care not only in processing cherries but across all aspects of production, including providing ‘coffee scouts’ to assist with agronomics. Salvator, the scout at Giku Hill, empowers farmers with knowledge on sustainable farming practices and assists during the busy harvest periods. The result of this collaborative effort is a delightfully jammy coffee that we’re excited to share with you. We’ve roasted it for filter to highlight its stone fruit qualities and lingering sweetness.
