Flavours of red apple and hazelnut.
A pulped natural processed red and yellow catuai lot from Piatã. Pedro Santana, who was a banker at the time in São Paulo, acquired the land on which Cafundó sits in 1989. Wanting a simpler lifestyle for his family, Pedro saw potential for specialty coffee cultivation on the high altitude plot of land (1360 metres above sea level). Cafundó translates to ‘very, very far away’ in Portuguese, which it is – both physically and metally from the hustle and bustle of São Paulo. This coffee was grown under the shade of the Gravellia trees on Pedro’s farm. Fruit on shaded coffee plants ripens slower, resulting in a very sweet and balanced cup.
